Jude M. Hines, PhD, JD, LCSW
providing online LCSW and LCPC supervision
My name is Jude Hines and I completed my PhD at Jane Addams College of Social Work at University of Illinois at Chicago. I was a school social worker for 19 years and worked for a special education cooperative in the western suburbs of Chicago. I have worked exclusively with special ed students that range in ages from 3 to 22 years of age and I worked with deaf/hard-of-hearing, physically disabled, developmentally delayed students, students on the Autism spectrum and with emotional and behavioral disorders.
I have had a variety of occupations including being a special ed teacher, a lawyer, a stay-at-home parent, and a social worker. Obviously, I love going to school but I haven't always. I was a struggling student when I was young, mostly because I had an undiagnosed attention disorder, but teachers didn't know about such things back in my day.
I have worked with folks in the disability community as well as volunteered for a rape crisis agency, Cabrini-Green Legal Aid Clinic, government subsidized day care center, and the Open & Affirming Committee at my church. I have coached soccer and basketball, played soccer and tennis, and have been involved with an agency that supports LGBTQ youth in the western suburbs of Chicago for the past 20 years. I have received some valuable assistance and support through some difficult times and I appreciate doing the same for others.
